Before Sunrise: A Morning to Remember on the TODAY Show

Some mornings start earlier than others, and this one was a 4AM start I won’t forget anytime soon! Standing in our macadamia orchard under the soft glow of pre-dawn light, there was a buzz of excitement in the air. We were about to go live on national television, sharing the magic of Macadamias Australia with the country on the TODAY Show’s weather cross with Tim Davies. 

Behind the Scenes of a National TV Moment 

As the TODAY Show crew set up their cameras, lights, and microphones, I took a moment to soak it all in. It was a special opportunity—not just for us, but for the entire Bundaberg region. Macadamias Australia is deeply rooted in this land, shaped by three generations of family farming and a passion for sharing premium, sustainably grown macadamias with the world. To have this story featured on live television was both an honour and a proud milestone for our business. 

Tim Davies and his team were fantastic to work with—warm, professional, and genuinely interested in the experience. From cracking macadamias in the orchard to stepping inside our chocolate room, every part of the morning was filled with energy and enthusiasm. 

Showcasing the Bundaberg Region 

Beyond our farm, this was also a chance to highlight Bundaberg’s world-class food and tourism offerings. As a region, we are home to some of Australia’s best produce and passionate farmers, and it was incredible to see that showcased on such a broad platform. 

One of my favourite moments? Well let's say one of the more humorous moments was hearing Tim promote the 'healthy handful' message - it seemed Karl and Sarah were quite amused with the idea of a handful of nuts per day message. ☺️ Always good to have a bit of fun and laughter and not take life too seriously!
